One Friday I wore jeans with a turtleneck and dressy vest. I looked waaaaay classier and was much more comfortable. But no, my manager wrote me up for a dress code violation and sent me home to change. I didn’t want to wear that ugly, itchy polo so I switched out my jeans for a pair of dress pants. Your daughter is most likely modeling her behavior after people that she’s seen on TV or social media. You need to continue telling her that wearing a different outfit everyday is completely unrealistic and not a possibility for your budget—or for most people’s budgets! She will fuss and wail and tell you that you’re a horrible parent. Ignore her—she will not die from this. In fact, if she continues fussing or ranting about it, after you’ve heard her out and explained your reasoning for not being able to buy 365 new outfits for her a year, then I would have consequences for her (privileges lost, items taken away, etc). My solution would be to let her know what your clothing budget is for her. Take her shopping with a calculator and let her choose the Live and love whole heart premium shirt Furthermore, I will do this amount of clothing that she can with that money. Show her options for mixing and matching clothing and changing accessories to make her outfits seem a bit different. When she’s reached her budget limit, the shopping trip is done.
