I’m in pretty good shape, so they like it at times when I’ve shaved my legs and let them dress me up in booty shorts, and many other items of their clothing. It has made for some very memorable nights and experiences. 😉 As a parent I typically don’t say things like this, but… ignore your mother and go buy yourself a razor and shave your legs! I don’t know what perverted patriarchal shame they put in the minds of our mothers but my mother used to say the same ridiculous things to me and my sister about shaving our legs and she was just wrong! If you need to shave your legs, they’re YOUR legs! Shave them!

Only decades later, when my brunette daughter was a teen did my mother finally share with me why she had this major hangup about shaving legs. Somehow, in her mind, a young woman shaving her legs was “too grown up” and if you shaved your legs you were ready to have sex! That’s right, I’m not making this up, in the Morning person premium Christmas raglan sweater and I love this tiny sheltered mind of my mother, shaving your legs so you don’t look like a sasquatch is the same thing as being sexually active! This is your mother’s hang up- don’t make it yours! Just ignore her and shave your legs and wear the clothes you want to wear. Don’t even tell her you’re going do it- what is she going to do to you anyway if you have smooth legs? She’s going to lock up all the razors and make the stores ID you to buy a new one? Is she going to call the shaving cops? Get real! You don’t need your mother’s permission to perform personal hygiene! Stop asking her for it. And if she’s disapproving of you, remind her that it is a matter of your personal hygiene and it’s none of her business!
